I was born on May 3rd in Evansville, IN. I enjoy photography and sports. I love to watch sports! I went to St. Ben's and Holy Spirit for elementary school. Ihope to go to the University of Evansville to study Computer Science! I am the daughter of Keith and Melissa Mayer and I have one sister named Kyleigh and a dog named Sonic! I love family time and most of my time is spent with my family and my friends! I am so fortunate to have some amazing friends!
I love TOK because it is basically the study of life and the human brain. It is interesting to me to think of all of the things we think of in a day in a logical way. I love the fact that we talk about everyday life as well as I love the current events situations we talk about and how we dig into peoples brains. We have an AMAZING TOK class and I love my classmates and our teacher is the BEST! She is so qualified for this job because of her personality. My classmates help make the class the best possible by bringing up different perspectives and topics. We could be in this class all day every day and still have enough time to finish all of our conversations!!!!
I don't understand how there isn't an English part in the Areas of Knowing, but I do enjoy the topics and love seeing how they relate to TOK.
UPDATE!- 1/14.16
After reading this in class today, some has changed with college as well as my interpretation of this class (all in a good way)
I believe this class has taught me to think, not only selfishly, but think from every person's point of view. I definitely feel as my relationship with my classmates has become a closer bond, not only because of the works we've done, but the things we have went through together, in TOK specifically. I know we are in almost every class together, but I feel that the second we walk in to TOK, the environment changes, much different than any other class I've experienced.I understand many of the topics now, and realize that ethics is HUGE! I believe this class is more than just the study of the human brain, but human behavior and the rights behind that.
Mrs. Boenigk- You are unlike every other teacher I have had! I feel like I can trust you and your personality and I's go together well! I will definitely use the knowledge I have learned from this class for the rest of my life and never forget the experiences, funnny conversations that all somehow relate to TOK, serious conversations, and just your personality! Love you!
A few of my favorite quotes: "Be humble and never think you are better than anyone else... "for dust you are, and dust you shall return"
"The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will."
