Imagination

Imagination in and of itself is an incredibly difficult word to precisely define. It can be overall defined as the ability to create new ideas, visual or conceptual, that are not readily identifiable by the senses. However, this particular definition lends itself to an artistic disposition, and imagination does not necessarily pertain to the creation of art or any other such creating. In fact, imagination plays a pertinent role in problem solving, analysis, and critical thinking; in other words, "thinking outside the box." It is the reason for innovation and new ideas and the driving force for change in the world. It derives from taking old ideas and reinventing them into something even better. Knowledge is identifying what you know, but imagination is identifying what you know and then thinking beyond it.
